I haven’t been writing much on this blog. I will try to do more. This will probably become my bowling and trying to lose weight diary of sorts. The diet will start after next week, as the wife and I are going to Reno for the USBC National Bowling tournament and then to San Francisco for two days as a vacation. No dieting until after that.
As far as bowling, I have been practicing on the national shot at my local house, and have been struggling a bit. Hopefully it will pay off by next week. Not picking up spares is going to kill me if I don’t straighten that out.
And to the topic of this post. Harlan Coben is an author of suspense novels. I tend to read a novel about every week or two, depending on how much time I have. I started reading a couple of Coben novels last year, and liked him. My problem with him, is he writes well enough to keep me reading until wee hours of the night, causing me to only get 5-6 hours of sleep a night, instead of 8. I just finished Promise Me, and if you haven’t read it, I recommend it highly, although you may want to pick up some of his earlier novels first, such as Deal Breaker, as Promise Me is in a series of books, about a sports agent/detective name Myron Bolitor. He has a number of stand alone novels as well, including Tell No One and The Innocent. I finished Promise Me in 2 nights, but he got me hooked on Myron Bolitor again, and I hadn’t read all of his books yet, so I picked up One False Move yesterday, and I am sure I will be done with it before I head out to Reno on Saturday–which of course only means I will have to buy The Woods before I leave.
